How account-tier advanced settings work — operational toggles, account preferences.
Advanced Settings in SG-Dashboard is the surface for account-tier configuration that does not fit into Billing, Site Manager, or other named sub-pages. Operational toggles (notifications, integrations defaults, account-wide preferences) live here. This page is the Reference definition of the Advanced Settings sub-page.
What is this for?
Read this page when you want the structural definition of account-tier advanced settings — what toggles live there, what scope they affect, and how settings changes propagate.
Good use cases
- You need to adjust an account-tier preference (notification routing, integration default).
- You are explaining to a stakeholder how SGEN handles account-wide configuration.
- You hit a "where do I change this account preference?" question and want the model laid out.
What NOT to use this for
- Per-step procedures — open the relevant Guide.
- Per-site settings — open the admin Configuration inside the relevant site.
- Billing settings — open Billing Overview.
- Per-release shipped change — open What's New or Changelog.
How this connects to other features
- SG-Dashboard Overview — parent surface.
- Billing Overview — billing-related configuration (separate surface).
- Client Manager — multi-client routing (separate surface).
Definition
Advanced Settings in SG-Dashboard is the catch-all account-tier configuration surface for toggles and preferences that do not fit into the named sub-pages. The settings live at account scope and apply across every site under the account.
The defining property is account-tier with cross-cutting effect. A change here typically affects how every site under the account behaves rather than scoping to one site.
Purpose
The purpose of this page is to define the Advanced Settings surface as a Reference layer rather than as a configuration walkthrough. It explains what kinds of toggles live here, what scope they affect, and where settings changes propagate.
Scope
This page covers Advanced Settings at the Reference level.
The page covers:
- The categories of settings the surface holds.
- The account-tier scope.
- The boundary against per-site settings and billing settings.
- Per-step procedures — Guides.
- Per-site settings — SG-Admin Configuration.
- Billing settings — Billing Overview.
Setting categories
Advanced Settings groups toggles into a small set of categories.
Notification preferences
Account-tier notification routing — which channels deliver which event categories, suppression rules, recipient defaults. The Notification Logic Reference covers the underlying primitive; Advanced Settings is the operator-facing preference surface.
Integration defaults
Account-tier defaults for connected integrations — default property pairing for new sites, default sync cadence, default healthy-connection thresholds.
Account preferences
Time zone, locale, default operator role for new invitations, default reporting cadence.
Operational toggles
Toggles for account-wide behavior — debug logging, audit retention overrides where the plan supports them.

Scope of changes
Settings changes here apply at account tier.
Cross-site effect
Most Advanced Settings changes affect every site under the account. Notification routing, integration defaults, account preferences propagate.
Per-site override capability
Where the platform supports it, a per-site override can be configured inside the admin Configuration to deviate from the account-tier default. The Advanced Settings value is the default; per-site override is the exception.
Constraints and boundaries
Advanced Settings is a Reference area for account-tier configuration. It is not a substitute for per-site settings or for billing surfaces.
Use this Reference for:
- Understanding what account-tier toggles exist.
- Confirming the account-tier scope of a setting change.
- Reasoning about per-site overrides where supported.
- Per-site settings — SG-Admin Configuration.
- Billing settings — Billing Overview.
- Per-step procedures — Guides.
Public boundary
This page is intentionally public-safe.
Examples
Example 1 — Operator changes the account time zone
The operator opens Advanced Settings → Account preferences, changes the time zone from UTC to UTC+08 Manila. Reports, notification timestamps, and scheduled-process boundaries all reflect the new time zone account-wide.
Example 2 — Operator suppresses email digest
The operator opens Advanced Settings → Notification preferences, toggles off the daily digest rollup. Notifications continue to fire in-app; the digest email no longer arrives.
Example 3 — New integration default propagates to provisioning
The operator sets a new integration default (e.g., default GA4 property pairing convention). New sites provisioned afterward inherit the default; existing sites continue with their per-site configuration unless updated.
Documentation guidance
Use this page as the structural definition for the Advanced Settings surface. Procedural detail belongs in Guides; per-release behavior change belongs in What's New or Changelog.
