How SGEN handles account-tier analytics — multi-site rollups, per-site surfacing.

Analytics in SG-Dashboard is the account-tier surface that aggregates analytics signals across every site under the account. Where per-site analytics live in the admin Analytics, the SG-Dashboard Analytics surface rolls those signals up into portfolio views. This page is the Reference definition of the account-tier Analytics surface.

What is this for?

Read this page when you want the structural definition of account-tier analytics — what rollups SGEN produces, where per-site detail lives, and how the connected analytics integrations feed the surface.

Good use cases

  • You are running a portfolio of sites and need the cross-site analytics view.
  • You are explaining to a stakeholder how SGEN handles multi-site reporting.
  • You hit a "where do I see traffic across all sites?" question and want the model laid out.
  • You are designing internal SOPs around analytics review cadences.

What NOT to use this for

  • Step-by-step analytics procedures — open the relevant Guide.
  • Per-release shipped analytics change — open What's New or Changelog.
  • Per-site analytics detail — open the admin Analytics.
  • Custom event taxonomy — out of scope.

How this connects to other features

Definition

Analytics in SG-Dashboard is the account-tier visibility surface for traffic, conversion, and operational signals across every site under the account. The surface aggregates per-site analytics data into rollup views and surfaces account-wide trends.

The defining property is account-tier rollup. Per-site detail lives in the admin Analytics; the SG-Dashboard surface aggregates rather than duplicates.

Purpose

The purpose of this page is to define the account-tier Analytics surface as a Reference layer rather than as a configuration walkthrough. It explains the rollup model, where the surface gets its data, and how the sub-pages descend from this Overview.

Scope

This page covers SG-Dashboard Analytics at the Reference level.

The page covers:

  • The account-tier rollup model.
  • The relationship to per-site analytics in the admin.
  • The connected analytics integrations that feed the surface.
  • The two sub-pages (Event Logs, Reports) that live under it.
The page does not cover:
  • Per-step analytics procedures — Guides.
  • Per-site analytics detail — SG-Admin Analytics.
  • Custom event taxonomy — out of scope.

The rollup model

SG-Dashboard Analytics aggregates data per site and surfaces the rollup at the account tier.

Per-site contribution

Each connected site contributes its analytics data via the integration layer (typically Google Analytics 4 — covered in the GA4 Reference). The contribution is per-site; the rollup aggregates.

Account-tier views

The Dashboard surface presents portfolio views — total traffic, top sites by traffic, comparative trends, account-wide conversion summaries. Per-site detail is one click away (open the site card; descend into the admin Analytics).

Time windows

Standard time windows are last 7 days, last 28 days, last 90 days, year-to-date. Custom windows are supported where the plan covers it.

Where data comes from

The connected analytics integrations feed the rollup.

Google Analytics 4

The default ingest layer. Per-site GA4 properties feed per-site data; the SG-Dashboard surface rolls up.

Other integrations

Future ingest sources (search performance from GSC, conversion signals from connected services) layer on as the integration set grows.

Where per-site detail lives

Per-site analytics detail lives in the admin Analytics. The Dashboard surface routes operators to the per-site view via the site card.

Constraints and boundaries

SG-Dashboard Analytics is a Reference area for the account-tier rollup surface. It is not a substitute for per-site analytics or for custom-event reporting.

Use this Reference for:

  • Understanding the account-tier rollup model.
  • Confirming where per-site detail lives.
  • Reasoning about the relationship between connected ingest and surfaced rollups.
Do not use this Reference for:
  • Per-site analytics — SG-Admin Analytics.
  • Custom event taxonomy — out of scope.
  • Step-by-step analytics procedures — Guides.

Public boundary

This page is intentionally public-safe. It does not expose analytics-engine internals or protected operational identifiers.

Examples

Example 1 — Account owner reviews portfolio performance

The owner opens SG-Dashboard → Analytics every Monday, scans the last-28-days rollup, identifies the top-performing sites, descends into per-site analytics for any site that surfaces a notable trend.

Example 2 — Operator scopes a campaign across multiple sites

A multi-site campaign needs portfolio-tier visibility. The operator uses SG-Dashboard Analytics to track aggregate impact across the contributing sites without switching contexts per site.

Example 3 — Stakeholder asks "what is our total monthly traffic?"

The platform lead opens SG-Dashboard Analytics, reads the rollup total for the last-28-days window, provides the number with the comparison-to-previous delta. The Reference grounds the conversation in the account-tier surface.

Documentation guidance

Use this page as the structural definition for the SG-Dashboard Analytics surface. Procedural detail belongs in Guides; per-release behavior change belongs in What's New or Changelog.

Reading order

Open this page when scoping account-tier analytics. Pair with Event Logs and Reports for the sub-page detail. Pair with the GA4 Reference for the connected ingest layer.

Vocabulary cross-reference

  • Rollup is the aggregated view across sites at account tier.
  • Per-site contribution is one site's data that feeds the rollup.
  • Time window is the range the analytics view covers.
  • Connected ingest is the integration layer that feeds raw data.
  • Account-tier is the scope of this surface (vs site-tier in the admin).

Maintenance discipline

When Analytics behavior changes across releases (new rollup view, new time window, new ingest source), update this Reference and log the change in Changelog. The rollup model stays valuable because the per-site → account-tier flow stays small.
