SGEN Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: 2026-05-27

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out what you may and may not do when using SGEN's platform, services, websites, APIs, and any websites or stores you build, host, or operate using SGEN (collectively, the "Services").

This AUP applies to every account holder, organisation, and end user who accesses the Services in any capacity.
Your use of the Services constitutes acceptance of this AUP.
This AUP is incorporated by reference into the SGEN Terms of Service at /terms-of-service.
Where this AUP conflicts with the Terms of Service, the Terms of Service govern.

1. Prohibited Content

You may not use the Services to host, store, publish, transmit, or distribute any content that:

Is illegal. Violates any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.

Involves child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Any sexual content depicting or involving minors is strictly prohibited and will be reported to relevant law enforcement and reporting bodies without notice.

Promotes violent extremism or terrorism. Includes content that incites, glorifies, recruits for, or facilitates acts of terrorism, genocide, or mass violence.

Constitutes hate speech. Attacks, dehumanises, or calls for discrimination against individuals or groups on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or similar protected characteristics.

Infringes intellectual property. Reproduces, distributes, or publicly displays copyrighted works, trademarks, trade secrets, or other protected material without authorisation.

Distributes malware or harmful code. Includes viruses, ransomware, spyware, trojans, worms, or any other code designed to damage, disrupt, intercept, or gain unauthorised access to systems or data.

Facilitates phishing or fraud. Impersonates any person, company, or service; creates deceptive pages to harvest credentials or financial information; or facilitates any form of financial fraud.

Constitutes unsolicited bulk messaging (spam). Sends or enables the transmission of unsolicited commercial messages in violation of applicable anti-spam laws, including the US CAN-SPAM Act and EU ePrivacy Directive.

2. Prohibited Activity

You may not use the Services to engage in any of the following activities:

Unauthorised access. Attempt to access systems, accounts, networks, or data without authorisation, including by exploiting vulnerabilities, credential stuffing, or brute-force methods.

Scraping at scale. Use automated tools to extract data from the Services or from websites hosted on the Services at a rate or volume that places unreasonable load on infrastructure, or in a way that violates the terms of a website you do not own.

Denial-of-service attacks. Launch or facilitate distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, volumetric attacks, or any deliberate effort to disrupt the availability of the Services or any third-party system.

Abuse of platform resources. Consume CPU, memory, bandwidth, storage, or API capacity at a level that materially degrades service for other users, or that exceeds plan-level limits without authorisation.

Circumvention of safeguards. Attempt to bypass, disable, or undermine security controls, rate limits, access controls, content filters, or any other protective measure implemented by SGEN.

Use as a proxy for restricted activity. Use the Services as infrastructure to facilitate activity that would itself violate this AUP — for example, hosting a service that enables third parties to conduct phishing campaigns or distribute malware.

Impersonation. Create accounts or content that falsely represents affiliation with SGEN, another user, or any other person or entity.

Interference with other users. Harass, threaten, or interfere with any other user's access to or enjoyment of the Services.

3. Resource Limits and Fair Use

The Services are shared infrastructure. You agree to use platform resources — CPU, bandwidth, storage, database connections, and API calls — within the limits of your subscribed plan.

Plan-specific limits are described in your account dashboard and at the time of subscription.
Exceeding published limits may result in throttling, suspension, or a requirement to upgrade your plan.
For questions about resource limits applicable to your plan, contact support@sgen.com.

4. Account Conduct

One account per person or organisation. Accounts are issued to a single human individual or a single legal entity. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent limits, bans, or restrictions is prohibited.

No unauthorised credential sharing. You may not share account credentials in a way that exceeds your plan's licensed user count or that violates the Terms of Service.

Accurate registration information. You must provide and maintain accurate registration information, including name, email address, and billing details. Providing false registration information to obtain access is a violation of this AUP.

Account security. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Report any suspected unauthorised access to legal@sgen.com immediately.

5. Adult and Regulated Content

Content that is legal but intended for adult audiences, or that involves regulated categories — including alcohol, tobacco, pharmaceuticals, firearms, financial services, or adult entertainment — may be subject to additional restrictions depending on your plan tier and jurisdiction.

For current policy on adult or regulated content categories, contact legal@sgen.com before publishing such content on the Services.
SGEN reserves the right to restrict or prohibit categories of content where required by law, by payment processor requirements, or by hosting infrastructure constraints.

6. Enforcement

SGEN may take any of the following actions in response to a violation of this AUP, at our sole discretion:

Warning. For first or minor violations, we may issue a written warning and require corrective action within a specified period.

Content removal or disabling. We may remove, unpublish, or disable access to content that violates this AUP without prior notice where the violation is serious, ongoing, or time-sensitive.

Account suspension. We may suspend access to the Services — including websites hosted on the Services — pending investigation or resolution of a violation.

Account termination. Repeated, serious, or intentional violations may result in permanent termination of the account and all associated data, without refund.

Cooperation with law enforcement. Where required by applicable law or in response to a lawful request, SGEN will cooperate with law enforcement agencies and provide information relevant to criminal investigations. Where legally permitted, we will notify the affected account holder.

Reporting to authorities. For violations involving CSAM or credible threats of violence, SGEN will report to relevant authorities without prior notice and without regard to account standing.

Enforcement actions are not mutually exclusive. SGEN may apply multiple actions simultaneously where the severity of a violation warrants it.

7. Reporting Violations

If you become aware of content or activity on the Services that you believe violates this AUP, you may report it to legal@sgen.com.

Include in your report:

  • a description of the content or activity you believe is in violation;
  • the URL or location of the content, if applicable;
  • your contact information; and
  • any supporting evidence or context.

SGEN will review reports and take appropriate action. We do not guarantee a response timeline for every report, and we retain sole discretion over enforcement decisions.

For security vulnerabilities in the SGEN platform itself, contact security@sgen.com.
For general support questions, contact support@sgen.com.

8. Changes to This Policy

SGEN may revise this AUP at any time.
Revisions take effect when posted at /acceptable-use-policy with an updated "Last Updated" date.
For material changes, SGEN will provide notice to account holders by email or in-product notification where practicable.
Continued use of the Services after a revision takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised AUP.
